AJET Update

Afternoon friends!

Tori Sharpe here, wishing you a very happy new year! I hope you had a good and relaxing vacation and are enjoying being back in beautiful wintry Aomori! 😉  If I may, I’d like to take a moment to keep you updated on a few things with the future of Aomori AJET in the 2014/2015 year, and the upcoming Aomori AJET elections in March.

I know that many of us have made our decisions to recontract, while others of us are still on the fence. I would like to let you know that next year both Travis Haby and David Herlich will be moving on to their next adventure in life and leaving the JET program, and while I have thoroughly enjoyed serving the JET community and friends for the last 2 years, it is time to pass the torchJ

What does this mean for Aomori AJET? This means that there’s an need for volunteers and even more, an incredible opportunity to serve on the AJET Executive council for the many friends looking for a professional challenge! Applicants should be current JETs who are reliable, have excellent time management skills, who have a desire to connecting JETs around the ken, and are re-contracting for the 2014/2015 JET year. We realize it’s early, but wanted to give you all ample time to consider volunteering for Aomori AJET as President, Vice President, or Treasurer for the 2014/2015 year.

Even if you have a LITTLE BIT of interest at all, please contact Tori tatatatori@gmail.com , Dave dave.herlich@gmail.com, or Travis travishaby@gmail.com with all questions! I can tell you all that connecting, networking, and getting involved with JETs and our communities adds real fun and life to our already great positions as ALTs.

We’ve got some good stuff planned for you in February and April, stay tuned!

Stay Classy Aomori,

Tori Sharpe, Aomori AJET President
